I've done quite a bit with sasl.  From approximately 2001 through
present.  I have mostly copied the configs that worked from server to
server, etc.  but I remember some of the debugging I had to do way back
when.

I'm interested in helping, but can't today - just taking off for the
rest of the night. Might you be on the irc server sometime on Jan 1st or
3rd?  (I think it'd be easier to do some interactive dialog versus lots
of e-mailing.)  We can summarize to the list once we get it working of
course.
