[LinuxUsers] liberating PDFs with open source tools

While this website totally works (I just used it to liberate a PDF of a 
password), I was wondering what raw open source tools people use to 
essentially accomplish the same thing.

(Up to this point, I've just been opening in GsView and then spooling it 
again with something like PDFcreator. This has done 80% of everything I 
need "PDF liberation"-wise)
