First thing I would do is throw a live cd in that thing and hook up a large
USB drive.   Then I would install testdisk and run photorec (part of
teskdisk) on the hard drive to see what files can be recovered.  Its gonna
take a long time.  You'll need a large drive (ie. a large USB) to save the
data too.

Next I would use testdisk to see if the partition table could be recovered.
If dban ran for just a few seconds, it might just be that the partition
table was deleted, but the data was not overwritten.  There are windows
tools that can do this (ie. Partition Table Doctor 3.5).

You should get some files from photorec.  If they are not all there, you
might want to try ddrescue(dd_rescue) or gddrescue.  Again, this will take a
while.
