As you may know, the mbr was corrupted on my friends presario, but it has files that he wants to save/keep.

My friend decided to run dban on his presarijo to wipe one of the sata drives. (It has two)

I told him not to do anything until I get back. (can you say dumb ass?)

So dban started to wipe both drives, and when he realized it he shut it down right away.

Now he still wants to recover his files.

Can the files be found even though he wiped the beginning of the file sysems, or the root of the filesystems?

Is there a program that can find the files that are on the disks?

Are there programs that can recognize pictures and other types of files, as opposed to system files?
