In this case, without more information I'd probably agree. It comes
down to a choice between OSes, and Linux distros are pretty fungible.
Even Slackware is not that different from the others.
But in the general case, the customer is quite often wrong,
misinformed, or unsure. Needs versus wants. A good contractor or
consultant will help them to realize that and discover the actual need
rather than just saluting and proceeding to waste their money.
But yeah, it is rarely sensible or efficient to argue with a customer
about roughly equivalent technologies when they have already made a
choice.
