[LinuxUsers] Centos 5 X server Shutdown?

I cannot for the life of me remember how to shutdown X server in Centos 5, I
am trying to explain to someone on the phone how to do something, and I do
not have access to a Centos machine.  Does anyway recall off hand how to
shutdown X in Centos 5.

/etc/init.d/gdm stop
and
init 3
is not an option in CentOS 5.
