I was looking at the website Vasta Stephen supplied

I noticed that it recommends Bastille linux for hardening the kernel.
I was wondering if I must choose between Bastille and GRsecurity, or
if both can be installed. I was searching on the net, and it was not
clear.

I was thinking about partitioning my hard drive, and running minimal
linux with IceWM, and maybe another partition with Debian Lenny so
I can practice securing a debian system.

I am wondering if I can use IceWM with Debian Lenny. That is probably
a stupid question, (seems obvious) but I am wondering also what are
some other lightweight WM's that are typically used with Lenny. or
are the WM's universal: eg.: http://xwinman.org/

Another question: What is the difference between a Window Manager, and
a Desktop Environment? If I have a Windows Manager,like IceWM, then I
don't need Desktop environment, do I?

I know, another dumb question, but just a little clarification would help.

Thanks

Thanks

Can someone give me a little info on
what this is actually doing,
and whether it is really something of value.
Thanks
