At this point the whole system is a moot point.  If I didn't have over 
$600 in parts in it (and by now about 30 hours) I would have thrown it 
against the wall a long time ago.

Tomorrow I'm going to figure out some tests to see if it's an 
incompatible or bad motherboard. I did a lot of checking on the 'net 
before buying it but now I'm begining to reconsider the wisdom of 
buying a cheap ECS board.
