Yes, that's an absolute requirement for my desktop, on which i program.

Absolutely NOT what i want, just as article notes.
Firefox sometimes and especially OpenOffice take application-side initiative
to autoraise on me, instead of letting the window manager take care of it
for me. There are days when i consider reverting to fvwm1 (from fvwm2) to
see if it will override Fx & OOo to behave themselves. Maybe I can configure
fvwm2 to do that if i bother to look up how.

(hmm, i thought i had a bookmark to some article arguing that Mac is
