What Chris won't admit (unless you prod him) was that his first choice 
was not Ubuntu, but rather two Windows-based programs: GetDataBack and 
OnTrack.

Photorec ended up what he used to pull the data, but it was M$-based 
programs he *first* turned to, not F/OSS!
