Only tangentially related, but Twibright Optar is an interesting tool
along the same lines: you can archive data onto paper with a laser
printer. It adds error correcting bits to allow resilience against
physical damage.

I think compact discs are only rated for 20 years. Paper archives
would probably outlast that.
